WHAT PEOPLE SAY
Linwood Member
‘Now I know how motoring should be. I have no car cost because all I do is use the Car Club Vehicle’
Lochwinnoch Member
'Before I joined the Car Club I had serious problems getting out of the village to visit friends and family, go to the supermarket, swimming pool etc because of my working hours and poor public transport… In short, the Club has given me a new lease of life and I think it gives great value for money. ‘
Linwood Member
‘Being a member is a great idea and I fully recommend it to anyone who wants to use a car but not own one.’
Covid-19
Vehicles are being cleaned using Microbe Shield Surface Sanitiser from a company called Zoono that keeps on killing germs on contact for up to 30 days. Once applied to key surfaces in our cars the product forms a protective coating which continues to kill any new viruses or bacteria which land on them.
Each of the cars is stocked with hand sanitiser for members to clean their hands with at the start and end of trips. We have also provided disinfecting wipes and we ask that members wipe down the steering wheel, indicators/lights etc., gear stick, door handles (inside and out) and any other surfaces that have been touched when they leave the vehicle, to minimise this risk, take away the used wipes to dispose of in a bin.
We also ask members to follow NHS advice on how to minimise the spread of the virus from person-to-person, and what to do if they suspect or have a confirmed infection (see https://www.scot.nhs.uk/) – especially if they have visited a high-risk area. We ask that they follow official government guidance on whether they need to self-isolate (see https://www.nhsinform.scot/illnesses-and-conditions/infections-and-poisoning/coronavirus-covid-19). If they need to self-isolate, that they please do not use cars until the period of self-isolation is over.
Members must let us know, without delay, if they suspect or have confirmed infection, and have recently used one of our cars, so we can take appropriate action to clean the car.
